Enterprise 2.0 – Beyond the technology.

In his recent post about the Dion Hinchcliffe article, 14 Reasons Why Enterprise 2.0 Projects Fail, Jim Benson notes some additional thoughts.

I think he captures the Organisational challenge in these two sentences – “Corporate Social Management Plans should lay out flexible and forgiving models where workers can select any application they want, and IT should provide simple APIs to connect to any relevant central data hubs.” and
“Workers should be empowered to use the best tool for the job at the time.”

An Organisational culture that supports this approach and a managed environment that guides the adoption of these tools are essential components of a successful E2.0 implementation.
